There are only a few copies left of "A Jugful of Much
Cowarne Cider". This book, a Local Heritage
Initiative, tells of life in the parish during the 20th Century by over
50 residents. It tells of the annual hop picking, the tribulations of
farming and war time life, and the time before mains electricity and
water. Over 200 pages long and with over 100 photographs it includes the
story of the Bourne family of Cowarne Court, the last 69 years of
Cowarne School, and families in the parish at the 1901 census.
