Friday 4th July 2025 – Old Farmstead site, Manor Farm, Bredenbury

The site consists of a series of platforms on which would have been a dwelling and assorted farm buildings at least until the late 18 century.
First excavated in 2010. Now being. revisited to learn more.
In 2010, one trench exposed part of a post hole, possibly that of the structural outline of a building (we are hoping it’s the dwelling).
A ‘T’ shaped trench has been put in to refund the post hole and see if we have any more associated with it. – videos below…….
So far we have found 17 – 18 century pottery shards. one possible medieval pot rim. Small piece of glass ( possibly off a vessel)
One possible 16 century pot shard ( green glazed) and part of a roof tile.
