Volunteering

As with all volunteer run societies, at the Bromyard and District Local History Society, we are always looking to recruit more helpers and there are a wide variety of tasks with which you could help.

At the Local History Centre:

  1. Greet visitors, manage the shop, and answer inquiries.
  2. Assist researchers in the Research Room.
  3. Maintain the library and archives.
  4. Digitize archival materials.
  5. Design and create window displays.
  6. help with annual exhibitions.
  7. Contribute to the website and publications.

At History on Broad Street (HOBS):

  1. Engage with the public and sell merchandise.
  2. Source and replenish stock from local artisans.
  3. Design and create window displays.

Other opportunities:

  1. Lead history walks.
  2. Assist with finance and administration.
  3. Serve on the Society’s committee.

The Society offers training and support for all volunteers.

Please contact: info@bromyardhistorysociety.org.uk or call in at either of the BDLHS venues, and we will be happy to give you more information and offer a “taster” session.
