Bromyard & District Local History Society offers a comprehensive Research Service covering a range of research subjects including Family and Local History.
Our Archive holds a wide variety of material, which include parish and nonconformist registers, private collection material, census records, Bromyard’s local newspapers and a large collection of photographs.
Types of research carried out include: Genealogical Enquiries – House Histories – Local History – Photocopying of Archival material.
Please address all Research Room e-mail enquires to info@bromyardhistorysociety.org.uk

as this way you will get a much quicker response to your enquiry.

Charges
Our charge of £10 per hour for commissioned research, i.e. research you ask our experts to conduct for you, is very reasonable. Nearly all our commissioned work carried out either by a retired professional or by someone who has spent most of life’s spare time on this work. The charge is usually payable at the conclusion of the research, but if a job promises or proves to be a long one, progress payments will be required. For overseas customers payment can be made by PayPal. We look forward to helping you

We are a voluntary organisation and receive no regular income from the local authorities. Our running costs for the Local & FamilyHistory Centre are high and the few charges made only cover a small percentage of our expenses. Please help keep us going – your donation would be very much appreciated.

The Research Room, Exhibition Room and Shop are open:
