Our Collections have built up since the Society was founded in 1966 and contain many links to personal names making them a great resource for Family History research.
There is no charge for viewing the exhibition or visiting the Research Room, however the Society is a charity and relies on volunteers and donations to maintain and run the History Centre so any donations are very welcome.
There is a small charge for photography and photocopying.
History of the Centre
The Society purchased the building in 1999 and converted it to its present use with the help of a grant from The Heritage Lottery Fund. It opened on May 1st 2003 and has been admired for the range of Heritage Services provided by volunteers with no regular local authority assistance.
